Designer Spotlight

It's only a week after NYFW and I am still obsessed about a designer from Academy of Art University. Her name is Mehrzad Hemati and her designs are structured with feminism. As a designer she had already launched a collection before attending AAU. With her collection at NYFW this month, she used, silk, cotton, satin, and organza; she gave a masculine look to a feminine collection. (http://www.fashionschooldaily.com/index.php/2015/09/18/academy-of-art-university-presented-spring-2016-collections-during-10th-anniversary-showing-at-new-york-fashion-week/) She introduced men's lines and structure in a women's collection, but made it feminine. Her talent went beyond meaning and onto another level, that some designers don't go to. She took a mans wardrobe, turned it into a women's collection, and came out with her own. Each piece is incorporated with another piece she created. (http://workfashionblog.com/students/nyfw-spring-2016-designer-mehrzad-hemati.html)
